The Mystic Show was created as a temporary source of entertainment during a stressful time in the creators life. It aired exclusively on Snapchat (@kalihead) and reached a wide and loyal audience. After the show was cancelled, many fans grieved the loss hard. As each episode only existed for twenty-four hours before disappearing forever, the show experienced a lot of backlash for not saving the episodes and uploading them to another, more permanent platform.

What's next |
Mystic (the titular character) was a unicorn who didn't understand why he couldn't fly, but his pegasi cousins could. During an attempt to teach himself (despite having no wings), he jumped off of a high ledge and landed hard on the ground. He suffered serious injuries, which led to him being prescribed pain medication. To cope with the feelings of helplessness that came with only being able to walk, he leaned heavily on the medication and became addicted, and later delved into other hardcore drugs.
He was eventually caught by his family when he went to meet up with a drug-dealer who happened to be his sister, and purchased drugs with the money his parents gave him for groceries. He was forced into rehab, where he met many fun characters such as Mrs. Turt (a turtle who carried her stillborn child on her back) and The Crackodile (a drug-dealing crocodile who worked from inside the rehabilitation facility). Mystic, aided by The Crack, escaped rehab and joined a crew of pirates. In a weird turn of events that helped the show come full circle, Mystic met the Mother of all Unicorns, Mystical, who told him the reason unicorns couldn't fly was because the Holy Horn had been damaged a long time ago and was unable to be fixed by anyone other than Mystic. When his pirate crew abandon him in the ocean, he thinks all hope is lost. The Crack makes a surprise reappearance as a clean-cut lover of God, and helps Mystic swim out to the Holy Horn. Unfortunately, the show was cancelled just shy of the two-part series finale, so the audience never get to see Mystic fly. |
Due to the incredible response from viewers, The Mystic Show has been noticed by top producers in the industry. Fans all over the world were outraged when the show was cancelled, and their pleas for justice have been heard. Season one of The Mystic Show has been green-lit for a reboot, and is set to air mid-to-late 2018 with most of the original cast signed on.
Long-time fans of the show will notice a difference in production value, accessibility, and scheduling. Episodes will likely be more spaced out, since it will take longer to film due to the larger crew and set. Another change will be concerning the plot. Although the reboot will follow the same outline, there will be some noticeable differences that the creators of the show have said will make it more cohesive and easier to watch. The show will no longer be temporary. It's unclear where they will be uploaded, but the producers have assured us that wherever it is, the episodes will be accessible to all, and will never be taken down, so you can re-watch your favourite scenes again and again! It's The Mystic Show like you've never seen it before. Get ready. -TMS |
